Subscription Update Obituary

    Roy W. Burdett, 74, of 46 Gold Nugget Rd., died peacefully, surrounded by his family and loved ones at his home, Wednesday, March 10.

    He leaves his wife of 57 years, Dorothy E. (Prince) Burdett, and his seven children, Ronald Burdett of Deltona, Fl., Randy Burdett and his wife Marilyn, Roy Burdett and his wife Judy and Shane Burdett and his wife Wendy all of Spencer, and Rex Burdett and his wife Denise of Shrewsbury; two daughters, Rae "Bonnie" Wilbur and her husband Rick and Rain Schultz and her husband Fred all of Spencer; his daughter-in-law, Anne Burdett of Worcester; 11 grand children, 12 great grand children, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters.

    Roy was a foreman for Roy Harrison Asphalt Paving in Worcester for over 35 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, telling jokes and stories, sitting on the front porch with a cup of tea reading his newspaper and mostly spending time with his family.

    Born in Worcester, he was the son of Earl R. and Evaline (Walker) Burdett.

    The Burdett family wishes to thank VNA Care Network and Hospice for the care they provided.

    Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 13 at 10 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday, March 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 25 Spring St., Walpole, Ma. 02081.
