Roy A. Daviau, 85, passed away on January 6, 2022 in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after a long hard fought battle with COPD and complications from Covid 19.

He leaves his two loving and devoted daughters, Renee Lorditch and her husband Matt of Charlton & Sherry Champlin and her husband Jeremy of Worcester; 4 grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Zachary and Dylan; 5 great grandchildren, Leah, Ally, Maddox, Benjamin and Peyton; a sister, Jane Sherman of Alexandria, PA, several nieces, nephews, and his cat and “best friend” Sam.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Janet in November 2021; a sister Doris Adams, and a brother Donald Daviau.

Roy was born in Worcester, MA on Sept. 13, 1936, son of the late George and Jenny (Burbank) Daviau. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the Airforce in 1954, serving for 4 years in the Electronics Maintenance Squadron as a Radio Repairman. After his enlistment, he met and married the love of his life, Janet, settling in Leicester where he worked in various sales positions for local area companies. A career change and move to Spartanburg, SC to attend Chiropractic College led him to setting up his own practice in Muskegon, MI for several years before eventually returning back to Mass.

Roy was a very private, quiet gentleman. He was a hard worker with very strong work ethics. Before his illness he enjoyed meeting his buddies several times a week for coffee and walking in the mall. He was a great cook and will be remembered for his tasty hamburg stew. He loved animals and made frequent donations to the MSPCA. He enjoyed seeking bargains at every nearby grocery and discount store, tending to his houseplants and rock tumbling from which he created many memorable jewelry pieces. He had an extensive book collection which reflected his belief in holistic medicine and was always interested in hearing about a new natural cure. In his later years he enjoyed reading the paper daily, doing word search puzzles, watching Gunsmoke and looked forward to his daily emails with his sister Jane.

After cremation, burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be held in the Spring. Morin Funeral Home, Leicester assisted the family.
