Roscoe P. Holmes, Jr. “Rocky”, 82, of Plymouth, died Feb. 19, 2010 at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. He was the Husband of Virginia (Meyer) Holmes. Born Oct. 19, 1927 in Plymouth, he was the son of Roscoe and Margaret (Vennen) Holmes. He graduated from the Plymouth School system, class of 1946. Rocky served in the United States Army from 1946-1948, stationed in Japan. Rocky was a local Lobsterman for over 50 years, and was a member of the MA Lobsterman’s Assoc. He enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as hunting, gardening, dancing, playing cards, western movies and sports. Rocky is survived by his wife, as well as his two daughters, Holly Ricardo of Plymouth, and Robin Fugazzi and her husband Alfred of Lincoln Maine, his six sons, Roscoe Holmes III (Stoney) and his wife Sheryl, Alfred Beane and his wife Jennifer, Dwight Beane, Kurt Holmes and his wife Dianne, all of Plymouth, Luke Holmes and his partner Renee’ Plante of West Wareham and Douglas Beane and his wife Rebekah of Lords Valley PA. He is also survived by his aunts Paulie Deacon of Weymouth, Thelma Holmes of Kingston, and many Nieces and Nephews. He was the loving Grandfather of Haley, Lexi, Rebecca, Kurt and Layla Holmes of Plymouth, Julia and Chloe Beane of Plymouth, Josiah and Elijah Beane of Lords Valley PA, and the late Hannah Holmes. Brother of Marguerite Morse of W. Bridgewater and David (Nick) Holmes of Plymouth, and the late Charles and Robert Holmes. A visitation will be held on Tues. Feb. 23, at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St. Plymouth, from 2-4:00 and 7-9:00 pm, the funeral service will take place on wed. at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Vine Hills Cemetery in Plymouth. Donations in Roscoe’s memory may be made to the RHCI of Sandwich, Gentiva Health Services of Plymouth, Black Feather Horse Rescue of Plymouth, or a charity of ones choice.
