Ronald Richard Perron “Ronnie”, 85, of Davenport, Florida, passed away on October 17, 2022 after a fall. He was born in Worcester, MA on August 16, 1937. He was preceded in death by his parents, Camille Perron and Doris (Croteau) Fenner and Stepfather Ralph Fenner as well as daughter, Deborah Perron and sons, Thomas Perron and Brett Perron.
Ronald will be missed by his surviving family members: Brothers, Richard Fenner of Walpole, MA, John Perron of Worcester, MA, Sisters, Judy Rinaldi of Worcester, MA, Joanne Murphy of Lancaster, MA, daughters, Cynthia Hurston of Sneedville, TN, Suzanne Garza of Millbury, MA, Michelle Perron of Loris, SC, and son, Jonathan Perron of Kissimmee, FL and grandchildren, Kenneth Garafalo, Jennifer Garza, Daniel Garza, Amber Guadagnoli, Chase Perry, Thomas Perron, Joshua Perron, Brittanie Perron, Angelica Hurston, Juliet Hurston, Peter Hurston and Ariana Hurston. He also leaves a beloved aunt, cousins, nieces, nephews two great grandchildren and many friends.
Ronald proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War, a fact made plain by his daily wearing a USMC veteran ball cap.
Ronald was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and had a long career as a chef including cooking for students at Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA and later at many restaurants in Disney World, Florida. He loved to cook for his family and made Thanksgiving dinners into his late 70’s.
He also served as machinist for Wyman Gordon, and as a Security Supervisor at Disney Properties and as a security guard at Lockheed Martin in Florida.
Ronald founded New Hope Mission in 1986 in the country of Haiti and He dedicated many years to the success of this mission spreading Christian faith and caring for the needs of the people. He was an ordained Church of God minister.
Besides cooking, Ronald enjoyed cruising, singing, heavenly hash ice cream with milk, watching old western films and making his voice heard by asserting his opinions on matters of importance to him and others. He shook the hands of two presidents, holding on to one of them until he had said his piece.
Ronald made friends wherever he went and will be tremendously missed by many.
Visitation will be at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main St, Millbury, MA on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 3 to 4:30 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 4:30 pm. Interment will be at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton the following morning, Monday, October 31, 2022 at 10 am.
