Subscription Update Obituary

     Ronald H. Lagacé, 82, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014, in Saint Vincent Hospital.

     He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Georgianna “Gerri” (Morin) Lagacé; their children, three sons, David P. Lagacé of Worcester, Mark S. Lagacé and his wife Lynn of Auburn, and Michael E. Lagacé of Douglas; a daughter, Janice E. Lagacé and her long time companion Neil J. Bond of Worcester; a sister, Rita George of Urbana, Ohio; four grandchildren, Leslie Kozloski of Worcester, Stash Kozloski and his wife Trisha of New Haven, CT, Liane and Alexis Lagacé of Auburn; three great grandchildren Lukasz, Addisyn and Morgann Kozloski; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Rene and Maurice Lagacé. Ronald was born in Fitchburg, son of the late Homer and Therese (Proulx) Lagacé, and lived there with his family until they moved to Worcester when Ronald was ten years old.

     Ronald graduated from Holy Name High School in 1949 and later from Worcester Junior College. He served his nation proudly in the United States Navy, during the Korean Conflict. He was a Meat Manager for First National Grocery Stores for thirty years. He then went to work for DeMoulas/Market Basket Supermarkets, retiring in 1994.

    Ronald was a member of Saint Stephen’s Church, Vernon Hill Post 435, and The Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union. He enjoyed reading, sports, good beer and darts. He was a very dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

     There are no calling hours. A Funeral Mass for Ronald will be celebrated on Thursday, April 24, at 11 a.m. in Saint Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

     In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
