Subscription Update Obituary

     Roger A. “Honey” Goddard, 94, of Turner Road, died Tuesday, November 27, 2018, in his home. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn M. “Polly” (Caribo) Goddard of North Oxford who died in 2017; his son, Roger A. Goddard Jr. who died in 2000; his daughter, Christine A. Bilodeau who died in 2017; three brothers, George Jr., James, and Frederick; and two sisters, Ethel and Frances. He is survived by two grandsons, Cole Goddard of West Virginia and Chad Bilodeau of North Oxford; and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of the late George H. and Thecla (Bacon) Goddard, and lived in Worcester before moving to North Oxford in 1968. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Goddard was a machinist at Heald Machine in Worcester for many years before retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post 58 and the V.F.W. Post 5663, both in Oxford. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4241 in Oxford and was a member of the United States L.S.T. Association.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at St. Ann’s Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Animal Shelter, 325 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.
