Subscription Update Obituary

Roger A. Cote, 70, passed away on Monday, April 29th, in the UMass Memorial Hospital-Harrington, Southbridge, after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 46 years, Denise E. (Haire) Cote; his son Matthew R. Cote and his wife Tiffany of Bellingham; his daughter, Jennifer L. Cote and her husband Benjamin Woodard of West Hartford, CT; his sister, Tracy Gonzalez of Southbridge; his three grandchildren, Thomas Cote, Andalucia Cote and Aaron Cote; and nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Rebecca A. Cote in 1983.  He was also predeceased by his two brothers, Jesse Cote, Sr. and Robert Robshaw and his sister, Joann Robshaw.  Roger was born in Gardner the son of the late Andrew and Florence (Magnan) Cote.

Roger was a truck and equipment mechanic for National Grid for 37 years, retiring several years ago.  He enjoyed metal detecting, woodworking and making stained glass.  He was an avid New England Patriots fan and Boston Red Sox fan.  Roger particularly enjoyed going to the Holland Community Center over the past few years where he always had a good time and made numerous friends there.  Roger was also a bingo caller at the Community Center.

Calling hours for Roger will be held on Friday, May 3rd, from 5:00 to 7:00pm in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home at 7:00pm.  Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, will be held at the convenience of the family.
