Subscription Update Obituary

     Rodolfo A. “Rudy” Acuña, 60, died peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2019 surrounded by his family, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester. Rudy was born in Alajuela, Costa Rica, the son of the late Jose Acuña and Melania (Vargas) Acuña and has lived in Paxton for over 32 years.

Rudy’s life was centered around his community and family. Over the years he drove rigs for several companies, traveling all over New England. Most recently he drove for Mid-States Packaging Inc. Rudy proudly served the people of Paxton as a volunteer fire fighter for over 20 years, retiring in 2017. His greatest joy in life was gathering with his family. Whether it was one of his famous pig roasts, camping, or watching the Patriots; he loved bringing his family and friends together.

Rudy is survived by his beloved wife of 13 years, Sharon (Kresco) Acuña; his mother, Melania (Vargas) Acuña; his sons Andrew Acuña and his wife, Amy of Barre and Daniel Acuña and his wife, Mary of Leominster; his daughter, Sienna Acuña; step daughters, Jennifer Boulay and her husband, Evan of Austin, TX and Amanda Moreau of Paxton; two brothers, five sisters, seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 pm on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31st at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richard’s Ave., Paxton.
