Subscription Update Obituary

Robert (Bob) P. Bourgeois, Sr., 87, died on Wednesday, October 23rd in Care One at Millbury. He leaves his wife of 68 years Patricia J. (Bois) Bourgeois, his 2 sons; Robert P. Bourgeois, Jr., and his wife, Debra of Belt, MT and Stephen Bourgeois, Sr., of Millbury, his daughter Kimberlee Powell and her husband, Aaron of Spencer, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his granddaughter, Candace Bourgeois, his brother John Bourgeois, Jr., and his 3 sisters: Virginia Corey, Margaret Perron, and Elizabeth Dyer. He was born in Worcester, son of John and Anne (O’Keefe) Bourgeois, Sr.

After graduating from Worcester Boys Trade High School, Bob entered into the workforce with the Worcester Diner Company, and shortly thereafter accepted a professional position at Heald Machine/Cincinnati Milacron as an electrical worker for 35 years, retiring in 2002. Bob was a Wide-Band Radio Repairman Staff Sergeant in the Air National Guard, he was activated into the 101st AC&W US Air Force Reserves at Giebelstadt, Germany during the Berlin Wall Crisis. Bob was a Jack of all trades who was always willing and eager to offer his skills and knowledge to anyone in need. Bob loved 50+ years of camping, square dancing. gardening, Boy Scouting, volunteering at Sacred Heart Church Bingo, and St Vincent de Paul Society. He was a Gentleman Farmer extraordinaire, providing fresh vegetables to family and friends every harvest. Bob will be missed.

Calling hours will be held in St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H Putnam Rd. Extension, Charlton on Saturday, November 2nd from 9:30-11 A.M. prior to the Mass at 11 A.M. A burial will be held in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton at a later date and at the convenience of the family. Please omit flowers; donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H Putnam Road Extension Charton, MA 01507. The J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, is assisting the family with arrangements.
