Subscription Update Obituary

Robert L. Novia, Jr., 64 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born in Worcester, a son of Robert L. and Arlene (Arachikavitz) Novia, Sr. He graduated from Worcester schools and enlisted in the Army National Guard where he served for 13 years. Robert worked as an embroiderer for City Sporting Goods for many years retiring due to illness in 2010. He loved sports and enjoyed going to the casino.

Robert is survived by his wife of 37 years, Annette C. (Grenier) Novia; a son, Robert L. Novia, III; two daughters, Angela Novia and Kimberly Parkinson and her husband CJ all of Worcester; two brothers, Michael Novia and his wife Stacey of Leicester and Richard Novia and his significant other Lori Decker of Barre; three sisters, Darlene Novia, Janet Rosa and her husband Junior and Michele Novia and her husband Michael LaHair all of Worcester; eight grandchildren, Kayliani Parkinson, Chris Parkinson, Jr., Morijah Novia, Kylie Novia, Jada (Novia) Madden, Bruce Lovely, Jr., Avriana Baker and Caydin Baker; a great grandchild, Deirdre Madden and two great grandchild on the way; his cat and pal, “Boss”; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the staff at VNA Hospice for the outstanding care and compassion they gave to Robert.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 4-7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. His services will be held on Thursday, June 13th with a procession from the funeral home to Our Lady of Loreto Church 37 Massasoit Rd., Worcester where his funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am.  Burial with military funeral honors will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: VNA Care Fund Development Office, 100 Trade Center, Suite G-500, Woburn, MA 01801-1872.
