Robert (Bob) L. Finn (90) passed away at the Epsom Health Care Center on July 4, 2020 after an arduous struggle with presumed Lewy Body Dementia.

He was married to Bertha E. (Munzert) Finn, “his bride”, for nearly 60 years and was the very proud father of 10 children: Thomas A. Finn (d. 1995) from Maine; Timothy A. Finn from New Hampshire; Tracey A. Graham from North Carolina; Teresa A. Finn from Massachusetts; Theodore A. Finn from Maine; Tara A. Targia from South Carolina; Todd A. Finn from Maine; Travis A. Finn from Washington; Tamara A. Murphy from Massachusetts; and Troy A. Finn from New Hampshire.

He also leaves behind his children’s families with 15 beautiful grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren with two on the way; a sister-in law, Barbara Simons; and several nieces and nephews throughout the U.S. He is predeceased by his son Thomas; his parents, John and Anna Finn; his brothers, John Finn and Thomas Finn; and sister, Margaret Ward.

Bob was born in Arlington, MA on February 27, 1930 and lived in Massachusetts for 85 years before relocating to New Hampshire in 2015. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the US Navy for 7 years before embarking on a 35-year career with the US Postal Service.

He loved tools, gadgets, woodworking, architecture, gardening, piano, music, and his faith. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena church in Manchester, NH. Some of his favorite shows were Creature Double Feature, This Old House, 60-Minutes, Star Trek, Benny Hill, Get Smart, Lawrence Welk, Space 1999 and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.

In his children, he instilled respect for authority and others, discipline, hard work, achievement of goals, and pushing back the boundaries of ignorance with a spirit of inquiry. We will miss hearing his Dad-isms: “No kidding”…. “You hot ticket”…. “Right up your alley”… “If you don’t know the answer, look it up!”, and as someone who believed in never saying goodbye, he would always say, “So long!”.

Bob’s family expresses their gratitude for the care provided by the Epsom Health Care Center administrative and nursing staff and the Bayada Health Care Hospice Team. Their kindness, compassionate care and interactions with Bob and his family during unprecedented COVID-19 challenges have been greatly appreciated.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Bob will be laid to rest at the Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA.

As he said to each of us over the years either at the end of a phone call or as we were calling it a night, one last thought that we would like to share with him: Bob/Dad/Papa….”Good Night and God Bless You”.
