Subscription Update Obituary

     Robert K. Gingras, 84, of Worcester, died Monday, October 12, 2015 at his home. His beloved wife of 63 years, Barbara Ann (Harris) Gingras, died September 23.

He leaves four daughters, Rosemarie Martel of Worcester, Michelle Karpowicz and her husband Kevin of Worcester, Tina Fullen and her husband Mark of Holden, and Barbara Karpowicz and her husband Brian of Worcester; his mother-in-law, Florence B. (Lauzier) Harris Wilson of Southbridge, two brothers, William Gingras and his wife Maurina of Sutton, and John Gingras and his wife Donna of West Boylston; three sisters, Doris Conlon of Worcester, Mary Lou Watkins and her husband John of West Boylston and Ann Marie Deviney of Worcester; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brothers Donald and Paul Gingras, and his uncle Eugene Gingras.

Bob was born in Worcester, son of Edmond and Mary B. (Murphy) Gingras. He attended St. Stephen’s School and Worcester Boys Trade.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Bob was a clerk in the stockroom for 30 years at Heald Machine Co. until the company closed its Worcester plant in 1991.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 4 and the Main South American Legion Post.

Bob cherished the company of his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bob also loved to fish from his boat “Quacker.”

Calling hours are Wednesday, October 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Thursday, October 15, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
