Subscription Update Obituary

     Robert J. Vigliatura, 89, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester.

His wife of 61 years, M. Patricia A. (Mooney) Vigliatura, died in 2014.

He is survived by his son Robert Vigliatura Jr.; his daughter Carol Jean Law; his four grandchildren, Gina Vigliatura, Diane O’Grady, Michael O’Grady and his wife Christina, and Kara Ewick and her husband Joseph; his great grandson, Dylan Ewick; his sister, Rosemarie Gordon; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also predeceased by his brother John Vigliatura and his sister Gloria Iannotti.

Bob was born in Worcester, son of John and Rose Alma (Hurtubise) Vigliatura. He attended Commerce High School and enlisted in the Army at the age of 17.

Bob worked for the United State Postal Service primarily as a clerk for 30 years.

He was an active member of the Brown Square Civic Club for over 40 years.

Bob loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandson, Dylan. He enjoyed summers at the Cape with his wife and family. He loved listening to music and singing for a crowd. He also enjoyed afternoons spent with his longtime friend, Bob Pellegrino.

Calling hours are Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be on Friday, October 19, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
