Subscription Update Obituary

Robert Greame Gleason, 85, passed away on October 31, 2021 at UMass Medical Center after being stricken ill.

He was born in Worcester on September 17, 1936 a son to Willard M. Gleason and Margaret C. Houlahan. He attended local schools and graduated from South High School in 1955. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country. After being honorable discharged, Robert attended Clark University where he earned a bachelor’s degree and went on to work for the Wyman-Gordon Company in Production Planning.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his beloved companion, Marie Lavin; his children, Robert Michael Gleason and his wife, Sheryl of Connecticut and Margaret Godfrey and her husband, Timothy of Florida; 5 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; his second family, Kevin and Don Lavin; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Howard Gleason and Elizabeth A. Borgatti, his grandson, Anthony James, and his great-grandson, Alijah Portes.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. The Lindquist, Fay and Lundin Life Celebration Home, 36 Butler St., Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements. The family wishes memorial contributions be made to, American SIDS Institute sids.org or American Foundation for Suicide Prevention afsp.org .
