Subscription Update Obituary

Robert E. “Bob” Larson, 78, of Spencer died Sunday, August 8th in St. Vincent Hospital with his wife by his side. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Bonnie L. (Kinne) Larson; he leaves his children, Keith E. Larson and his wife, Kelley of Millbury, and Dara A. Larson and her partner, Frank Gatta of Billerica; a brother, William Zackaricz and his wife, Nancy of Sutton; a sister, Ann Marie Clark and her husband, Steven of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Meena and Avalena Gatta, Olivia Larson, Abigail and William Gilbert. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald F. Larson and John M. Zackaricz.

He was born in Worcester the son of the late Alice M. (Michaud) Zackaricz. Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Bob began his career as a service technician at Claflin Donohue a division of Texaco. He worked for Texaco for 28 years and retired in 1999 as a refinery supervisor in Delaware. After retirement, Bob went on to work as a truck mechanic with his brother at Zack Tank.

Bob was a lifelong member of the VFW. He enjoyed reading about history and wars, and watching western movies. He was affectionately known as “Papa” or “Bumpa” to his grandchildren who were the love of his life. Bob always had a comment that would make you laugh.

His funeral is Saturday, August 14th with a service at 10:00 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
