Robert E. Carrelli, 77 of Paxton, devoted husband and dedicated father passed away Wednesday, July 15th 2009 in Umass Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Robert is survived by his loving wife and partner of 55 years, Betty (Moore) Carrelli; his three daughters, Jody C. Meredith and her husband Thomas of Florida, Rosalyn C. Anctil and her husband Robert of Berlin, Jacqueline J. Vyskocil and her husband Robert of Dudley; and four cherished grandchildren, Ashlie, Chandler, Cole and Sydney. He is also survived by his two sisters, Lena M. Manero of Worcester and Theresa M. Abdella of Florida; nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

Robert was born in Worcester, the son of Pietro and Josephine (Spina) Carrelli. He graduated from High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a sergeant during the Korean War. Upon his return to Worcester, he founded Carrelli’s Bakery with his wife Betty. After 18 years, he then became the owner of Oxford Package Store and successfully ran this business for over 27 years before retiring. Always wanting to remain busy during retirement, Bob found work in the funeral industry. His greatest love was his family and working with and helping people. It gave him a sense of dedication and pride.

Robert was a member of Saint Columba Parish in Paxton, the Worcester County Package Store Association, the Oxford Businessmen’s Association, and Oxford Lions Club. He was a former member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks. He will be sorely missed “To Be Sure.”
