Richard W. Henry, 85 of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Lifecare Center of Auburn.
Richard was born in Worcester, a son of the late Walter R. and Josephine (Marcinkiewicz) Henry. He graduated from St. John’s High School. Dick served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War Era. He worked as a mechanic at Fuller Automotive for 50 years before he retired. Dick was a member of Auburn Elks who loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, cars but family was first and foremost in his life.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife of almost 64 years on September 20, 2022, Jean S. (Foster) Henry; three children, Richard D. Henry and his wife Randy of Worcester, Kathleen S. Brotherton of Worcester and Jonathan G. Henry and his wife Ann of Charlton; five grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Jensen and her husband Mike, Jeffrey E. Henry, Christopher G. Henry and his wife Tracy, Ashley Huard and her husband Tyler and Nicholas J. Henry; four great grandchildren, Brett R. Henry, Caleb M. Jensen, Cole A. Jensen and Rhian E. Henry; three sisters-in-law, Kathleen Henry and Judith A. Laporte both of Worcester and Kathleen Kingston and her husband Wayne of Huguenot, NY; a brother-in-law Thomas J. Foster and his wife Nancy of Shrewsbury; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son-in-law, Peter Brotherton; two brothers, William C. Henry and Robert R. Henry.
Services for Dick will be held on his 64th wedding anniversary, Tuesday, September 20, 2022 with departure in procession from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester to St. John’s Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Worcester, County Memorial Park, Paxton. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, September 19th from 5-7 pm in the funeral home.
