Subscription Update Obituary

 

Charlton – Richard Joseph LaPlante, 52, of 12 Flint Road, formerly of Worcester, died yesterday in St. Vincent Hospital, after a long illness.

 

He was a mechanic for International Harvester Company in Worcester for 11 years, retiring in 1972.

 

He leaves his wife, Vera M. (St. Pierre) LaPlante, three sons, Edward J. and Brian L. LaPlante, both of Charlton, and Paul G. LaPlante of Auburn; a daughter, Brenda J. LaPlante of Grafton; his father, Joseph F. LaPlante of Charlton, two sisters, Shirley E., wife of Leon Richard Charlton, and Janet E., wife of Franklin Johnson of Leicester; five grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.

 

He was born in Worcester and lived there 39 years before moving to Charlton. His mother was Irene B. (Robinson) LaPlante.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond Street, Worcester. The Rev. Raymond Messier will officiate. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

 

Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
