Subscription Update Obituary

Richard E. Walker, 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at home. He leaves two sons, Richard J. Walker and Steven F. Walker; four grandchildren, Robert Fuller, Michael Walker, Lynne Morin and Kerry Walker; six great-grandchildren- Damon, Dylan, Sarah, Emily, Kylie, and Ava and nieces and nephews. His wife of 69 years Shirley P. (Dickinson) Walker, a daughter, Cindy A. Corrente, and siblings predeceased him.

“Babe”, as he was affectionately known, was born in Worcester, son of the late Joseph and Rena (Lamont) Walker. He graduated from North High School and worked as a truck driver for Schultz Lubricants for many years. He loved RVing and traveled all across the country camping and meeting new friends. He and his wife founded the Happy Sam’s Camping Chapter. He also enjoyed woodworking, hanging around the TFR Race Shop, and spending time with his friends at the Willows and his great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 4-6 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
