Raymond J. St. Laurent, 93, died Friday, March 14, 2025 in UMass Harrington Hospital, Southbridge after a period of declining health.

He leaves his companion and wife of over 40 years, Martha J. (Dinino) St. Laurent; one son, James R. St. Laurent of Webster; a daughter, Beverly R. Rose and her husband Lee of Pittsfield; 2 stepdaughters, Kendra J. Sheldon and her husband Keith of Millbury, and Kirstie M. Clemente and her husband Richard of Worcester; 4 brothers, Deacon Roland St. Laurent of Quebec, Jean-Guy St. Laurent of Charlton, Colin St. Laurent of Dudley, and Jacques St. Laurent of Southbridge; a sister, Pierrette Bolduc of Quebec; several grandchildren, including Renee Yanke, Carlie-Rose Tarr and Charles M. Tarr, Jr., several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his sons Roger, Philip and Donald St. Laurent, by his brothers Roderique, Fernand, Gerard, Marcel and Maurice St. Laurent, and by his sister, Simone Hudon.

He was born on April 8, 1931 in Windsor, PQ, a son of Frederic and Marianne (Chenevert) St. Laurent and lived there for 21 years. He then lived in Vermont until moving to Southbridge in the early 1960’s and then to Webster.

Mr. St. Laurent worked on farms at home and then in Vermont. He was then an inspector at the American Optical Company in Southbridge. A lover of carpentry, he built houses and installed roofs. He owned and operated apartment houses for many years. He retired as a fixer at Stevens Linen Associates in Dudley.

He was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 19, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
