Subscription Update Obituary

     Pauline (Smith) Rice, 89 of Worcester, passed away Monday, August 18 at UMass Memorial Medical Center.

Her husband, Ernest A. Rice died in 1995. She leaves a son, Robert E. Rice of Merrimack, NH; two brothers, Lindsey E. Smith of West Brookfield and Peter B. Smith of Clayton, NC; three nephews and five nieces. A sister, Patricia Davis of Edenton, NC predeceased her. She was born in Ware, daughter of Lindsey E. and Mildred I. (Donaghy) Smith and graduated from New England School of Accounting.

Pauline was an accountant for State Mutual Life Assurance Company for many years, before retiring. She was a longtime active member of Greendale People’s Church. Pauline was the secretary of the New England Apache Campers Club and she loved to travel.

A private burial will take place in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Arrangements are under the care of FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston.
