Pauline A. (Kunda) Kenneway, age 77, passed away peacefully at home in Rutland surrounded by her family early Monday, January 11, 2021. Born in Beach, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Della (Lorbecki) Kunda. Her loving husband, Earl C. Kenneway Jr., predeceased her in 2016.

One of nine children, Pauline went to high school in Wibaux, Montana, and then St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Dickinson, North Dakota, where she received an Associate’s Degree. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years in North Dakota before moving to Massachusetts in 1980. She worked as a long-term care nurse at Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, the Odd Fellows Home, and finished her career at the Jewish Healthcare Center.

Although she was tough and even stubborn at times, Pauline loved her family more than anything else. She was a caregiver by nature, allowing her to excel as both a successful nurse and a caring and supportive mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to read, go on camping trips with the family, play cards, and was able to make a delicious meal out of nothing.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at JHC Hospice for their care and compassion through her final days.

She will be lovingly missed by her son, Steven Holland and his wife, Dawn of Barre; two daughters, Sharon Dzivasen and Don Lovett of Leominster, Stephanie Cooper and her husband, Greg of Portland, OR; a brother, Charles Kunda and his wife, Diane of Wibaux, MT; two sisters, Frances Elmer and her husband, Ben of Dallas, TX, Dolores Stiener and her husband, Martin of Miles City, MT; five grandchildren, Amber Wolf, Nicholas Wolf, Zachary Spencer, Alyssa Holland, and Sophia Holland; three great-grandchildren, Riley Wolf, Connor Wolf, and Emilia Spencer; and many nephews and nieces. Besides her husband, Pauline is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Kunda, Larry Kunda, and Dominic Kunda; her sisters, Marie and Theresa; and her great-granddaughter, Hailee Spencer.

A graveside service will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park at a later date. Memorial Donations in her name may be made to Rutland Food Pantry, 258 Main St, Rutland, MA 01543. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, Greater Worcester Funeral Care.
