Pauline Ann (Kane) Sullivan, 90, passed away peacefully at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Born and raised in Worcester, Pauline was the daughter of Patrick and Geraldine (Shea) Kane. She is predeceased by her husband, John L. Sullivan with whom she spent 52 wonderful years.
Pauline was a graduate of St. Peter’s Central Catholic High School, class of 1952. She furthered her education at Worcester State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, and later earned a master’s degree in library science from Syracuse University. She dedicated her career to education, serving as a librarian at West Boylston High School and worked at Notre Dame Academy in Worcester before her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson and the Worcester State University Alumni.
Pauline enjoyed traveling with her husband John, particularly to White Horse Beach in Plymouth and various places in Florida. She enjoyed gardening, going to the movies, attending plays and reading. She cherished her many nieces and nephews, especially as they grew older. Pauline will be remembered for her clever sense of humor and warm personality.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy M. Stephens and her husband, Michael of Brewster, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters, Geraldine Sullivan, Patricia Kane, SSJ, Kathleen Green and Nancy Durkin, and a brother, John Kane.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Pauline’s family from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 9, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a procession to St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton St. in Jefferson, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nazareth Home for Boys, 77 Mulberry St., Leicester, MA 01524.
