Paul L. St. Martin, 86, of Worcester MA passed away on Sunday, May 20th.
Paul was born in Worcester, MA on February 28, 1932.
He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Blanche (LaPlante) St. Martin, his brother Edouard St. Martin and granddaughter Elaina Rivers.
Paul leaves behind his wife, whom he cherished, of 62 years, Jilda (Richard) St. Martin; a son Paul St. Martin (Donna) of Georgetown MA; four daughters Pamela Rivers (Todd) of Ashburnham, MA, Lynne Henderson of Mill Valley, CA, Janet Marks (Robert) of Daytona Beach, FL, and Donna Bartlett (John) of Paxton, MA, a brother Philip St. Martin and a sister Alida Tousignant both of Worcester, MA, ten grandchildren Brad, Jilllee, Joshua, Samantha, Kyle, Nicole, Colin, Katelyn, Lianna and Chad; and four great grandchildren, Tucker, Tanner, Grayson and Madelyn, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Paul graduated from Worcester Boys Trade in 1950 where he was captain of the basketball team and quarterback of the football team. Paul served in the Navy during the Korean War until 1955.
He was a carpenter and worked for Carpenters Local Union #107 until his retirement in 1994 and had also worked at the Worcester Art Museum. He enjoyed cabinet making and carpentry well into his retirement. His work was always left with his hand stamp ‘Another Beauty by the Saint’. He worked at Athy funeral home after his retirement.
Paul was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Greendale Retired Men’s Club and served on the Activities Committee for Immaculate Conception Church. Paul enjoyed watching his son, daughters and grandchildren sports activities throughout the years, and from a young age enjoyed playing the violin and listening to music. He also enjoyed golf, gardening and spending time with his beloved wife.
Calling hours will be Thursday, May 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Friday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Worcester Memorial Park, Paxton.
