Subscription Update Obituary

     Paul F. Baldiga, 70, of Evergreen St., died Tuesday, March 23 in St. Vincent’s Hospital Worcester after a short illness.
He leaves his sister, Jane E. Brown and her husband Richard of Duluth, GA., nieces; Casey Brown of Suwanee, Ga., and Katie Baldiga of Chicopee, nephews; Scotty Brown and his wife Laura of Atlanta, GA., and Christopher Baldiga and his wife Madison of So.Windsor, CT., his sister in law Debbra Baldiga of Chicopee. He was predeceased by his twin brother Peter Baldiga and nephew David Baldiga in 2012.
Paul had a long career working for National Grid before retiring in 2012.
He was born in Springfield, the son of Alexander and Edith (Finnie) Baldiga and lived in Spencer for 38 years before moving to No.Brookfield.
Paul was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening and restoring antique clocks. He loved sports as a boy growing up in Agawam, especially baseball, and would go on to become a major figure for many years in the development and operation of the Spencer-East Brookfield Little League serving countless hours in all capacities as coach, umpire, field maintenance, and league official. Thousands of area youths were the beneficiaries of his selfless dedication of time and wise counsel.
A graveside service for Paul will be held on Tuesday, March 30 at 12:30 p.m. in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn 38105. J.Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is directing arrangements for the family.
