Patricia Ann (Hughes) Wells, 63, of Worcester was called home on Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus. She leaves behind her husband of 14 years, Pastor Michael J. Wells; her son Langston A. Hughes and his wife, Tynisha as well as two grandchildren, Theron and Jovial A. Hughes all of Worcester. She also leaves her siblings, Wylean Jackson, Tommy Hughes, Brenda Hughes-Jefferson, Jerry Hughes, Don Hughes, Lois Anne Hughes; a stepsister sister, LaTanya Taylor; five stepchildren, Tyrone Morris and his wife, Cindy, Tranace Wells, Michael Wells, Marc Wells and Trisena Wells all of Boston; 14 step-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by two brothers, Roger and Larry Hughes.

She was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama the daughter of the late Louis Hughes and Vida (Colvin) Hughes-Haynes. Patricia worked for Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital – Mental Health Department for over 30 years as an administrative assistant, retiring in 2016.

Patricia was a founding member of the Kingdom of Grace Holy Tabernacle, where she was also the First Lady and Pastor. Pastor First Lady Wells enjoyed bringing people together, feeding the hungry, and spreading the word of God. She was a volunteer for over 15 years at St. Anne’s Church.

Her visitation will be Tuesday, September 14th from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. in Grace Christian Center, 126 Elm Street followed by her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Masks are required. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
