Subscription Update Obituary

Patricia Ann O’Leary, 84, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on October 2nd, surrounded by family. She was born in Worcester the daughter of Paul R. Haran and Julia (Stevens) Haran. She was the wife of Francis P. O’Leary of Worcester. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 1st, 2021. Besides her husband, she leaves four sons: Paul O’Leary and Kathleen (Bowler) O’Leary of Spencer, Patrick O’Leary of Newport, RI, Stephen O’Leary and Audrey (Rivernider) O’Leary of Woodstock, CT, and John O’Leary and Michelle (Guertin) O’Leary of Millbury. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Joanne (Haran) Kerber of Tewksbury.

She graduated from St. Stephen’s High School and Worcester State Teachers College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She went on to teach at Auburn and Worcester schools.

Patricia enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening. But her true joy was spending time with her family. She spent countless hours supporting her children and grandchildren at sporting events, dance recitals, birthday parties and school plays. She treasured her family vacations in Wells Beach, Maine.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Salmon Hospice nurses Ann Gurney, Brenda Turner, Kelly Fera and Pastor Brian Young as well as Molly Chase for her daily visits.

Her funeral is Thursday, October 7th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
