Subscription Update Obituary

Norma T. (Griffin) Kallio, age 88, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester. Born in Holden, she was the daughter of the late William Sr. and Julia (Myers) Griffin.

Norma graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education from Worcester State College and went on to teach special education at Paxton Center School for over 20 years. After marrying the love of her life, William Kallio, the two moved to Paxton where they raised their family and lived for over 60 years.

She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Paxton where she sang in the church choir. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and could always be found watching over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was of great importance to her.

Norma is survived by her two daughters, Julie Lemon and her husband, Gary of Rutland, Jennifer Kallio of Rutland; her son, Jeffrey Kallio of Jefferson; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, William Kallio; her daughter, Kimberlee Morrow; her three brothers, William Griffin, Jr., Robert Griffin, and Richard Griffin; and her sister, Lois Love.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 7th at the First Congregational Church of Paxton, 1 Church Street, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Paxton, 1 Church Street, Paxton, MA 01612. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, MA.
