Nancy Ann (D’Andrea) Laplante passed away Saturday, September 21st, 2024, surrounded by the family she loved.

Nancy was born in Worcester, one of six children of Italian immigrants Rafaele and Maria (Scardino) D’Andrea. Raised in Worcester, Nancy married Roger V. Laplante. They settled in the Lakeview section of Worcester to raise their family with love, faith and devotion until Roger left her side in 2006 after 54 years of marriage. Nancy worked for several years as a clerk and instructor for the Jim/ Jan Handcrafters. But the Job she cherished most was that of wife, Mom, and grandmother. Nothing in life meant more to Nancy than her family.

Nancy is survived by the family she cherished, sons David Laplante of Leominster and Scott Laplante of Worcester; daughters Linda Watson and her husband Mark of Sturbridge and Lisa Genatossio and her husband Stephen of Holden; daughter-in-law Kathleen Laplante of Holden; nine grandchildren, Michael, Jillian, Jaime, Caitlin, Jason, Vanessa, Nina, Jackson and Justin. She was “Gigi” to eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She joins in heaven her husband, Roger, son Stephen, brothers Anthony and Joseph D’Andrea, sisters Lucille Frongillo, Maria Connor and Gloria D’Andrea, and daughter-in-law Patricia Laplante.

Nancy was a member of St Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury and a member of the former St. Margaret Mary’s parish in Worcester. She enjoyed and was very talented at painting and crafts. She liked crocheting, watching game shows and soap operas on TV, as well as traveling and trips to the Casino. Notably, Nancy and Roger loved camping with the Starcraft Camping Club and traveled extensively in the U.S. visiting 47 of the 50 states. She loved family dinners, hosting all the holidays, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, plays and birthday parties, and simply having her family around her.

Nancy’s family would especially like to thank the staff of Sterling Village for their kindness and care to Nancy these past three years.

A period of calling hours will be held Thursday, September 26 from 9 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St followed by a procession to St Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd where her funeral Mass will be held at 11 am. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the activities fund, care of Sterling Village, 18 Dana Hill Rd, Sterling.
