Nancy Ann Wellington Stevens Callender, 94 years of age, passed peacefully on September 17, 2024. She was born on December 31, 1929, at Memorial Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts and was the daughter of Anna Lauretta Wilson Stevens Harris and Harold Stevens, both deceased.

Nancy was known for her kindness and caring spirit to all around her. She worked as a medical technologist at Memorial Hospital for 40 years and then as a volunteer for 30 years, clearly demonstrating her dedication and commitment to the medical field and her community. For this, she received the key to Worcester by Mayor Joseph M. Petty on August 9, 2018, and was also honored by the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House for her dedication to Worcester and for breaking barriers for women and people of color in the workplace.

She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Worcester for 60 years and was affectionally known for her unwavering service to the Parish by serving coffee and cookies after the Sunday service to all its members. Nancy loved cats and was a frequent mother to several abandoned cats from Neady Cats.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lauretta Anne Callender Anthony and Dr. Valerie Dawn Callender Clarke, son in law, Errol Moncrieffe Clarke Sr., granddaughter Ashley Dawn Anthony and two grandsons, Ronald Isaac Anthony and Errol Moncrieffe Clarke Jr.

Rest in perfect peace, Nancy, our Angel. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
