Michael R. “Mike” Braley, 66, of Worcester died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Mike leaves his longtime loving companion, Lynda L. Camarra of Shrewsbury, his devoted daughter, Dr. Jennifer P. (Braley) Sargent and her husband, Scott Sargent and their children, Zofia and Elise Sargent of Shrewsbury; a sister, Patricia A. Hackett and her husband, Al of Holden; two aunts, Virginia Puzar and her husband, Joseph of Cupertino, California, and Ellen Mita of Connecticut; also survived by many special cousins including Stephen Mita, and Mike’s feline friend, Stitch.
Mike was born in Waltham, son of the late Lawrence R. and Zenobia (Mita) Braley. He graduated from Classical High School in Worcester in 1966 and later attended and graduated from the Worcester Industrial Technical Institute.
He worked as a senior machine designer and was a dedicated employee of 45 years at the former Jamesbury Corporation, now known as Metso in Worcester. Family was very important to Mike; he enjoyed spending time with them, especially his adoring granddaughters, Zofia and Elise. Mike had several hobbies, including golf, fishing, fly-tying and traveling.
Mike’s family would like to thank the Staff at Saint Vincent Hospital and Jewish Health Care & Hospice and the many friends and family members for all their support and compassionate care that was given to Mike and his family throughout his illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mike’s family on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 4- 7 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His funeral will be on Friday, April 17, 2015 with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main St, Shrewsbury. Burial will be private.
