Subscription Update Obituary

     Merridith S. (Emery) Grigaitis, 48, passed away on June 10, 2018 at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Janice E. (Hesselton) Emery.

She leaves her son, Matthew Grigaitis of Paxton; her father, William Emery III and his wife, Sandra (Miller) Emery of Rutland; her brothers, William D. Emery of Paxton, Kenneth W. Emery of Worcester and Guy T. Emery and his wife, Mary of Southbridge; her sister, Constance E. McEwan of Paxton; her former husband, Christopher Grigaitis of Southbridge; her BFF, Duane Quinn of Paxton; three stepbrothers; her aunt; several nieces and nephews; a great nephew; and several cousins.

Merridith graduated from Wachusett Regional High School with the class of 1987. She enjoyed family gatherings, along with singing and performing music. She played her clarinet with her high school band and was a part of many community choirs, including Wachusett Singers. She participated in her high school musical Oklahoma as one of the “Pick-a-Little” Ladies.  Merridith started her career at the Rutland Heights Hospital in Rutland and then she worked for over ten years at Unum Insurance in Worcester. Most recently she was a billing specialist at UMass Memorial Medical School in Worcester.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Merridith’s family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 15th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 16th at the funeral home followed by a committal service at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
