Subscription Update Obituary

Maureen E. (Kane) Pottle, born and raised in Worcester, MA and a resident of Cape Coral, FL, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the age of 86.  

Maureen was born in Worcester on February 26, 1938, the daughter of the late Edward H. Kane and Marion C. (Wood) Kane.

Maureen was predeceased by her loving husband James R. Pottle, Sr., as well as her son David E. Pottle. She leaves behind three cherished sons: James R. Pottle, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Cape Coral, FL, Stephen G. Pottle and his wife Margaret of Worcester and Kevin C. Pottle of Cape Coral, FL.  

Maureen was also predeceased by her four brothers, Edward, Lee, Jeffrey, and James Kane and leaves behind her beloved sister Lois (Kane) Grosse. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law David A. Kane and his wife Paula, as well as her sister-in-law Marcia (Lavoie) Pottle. Maureen also leaves behind a great number of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  

Maureen graduated from Commerce High School before beginning a life with her husband and raising her four boys, who were the light of her life. After watching her boys grow, Maureen entered the workforce into a career in the banking industry where she made many long-time friends, whom she remembered fondly.  

Upon retiring, Maureen moved to Cape Coral, FL with her husband, where they enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She was truly a loving, caring and thoughtful person, who always wanted to spend time with the ones she loved.  

Maureen’s positive outlook and energy radiated throughout any room she entered, and she always put others before herself. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her, and especially the family she kept so close to her heart.  

Calling hours for Maureen will include a receiving line and funeral mass at Immaculate Conception Parish, 353 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605 on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 10 a.m., followed shortly thereafter by a burial at Paxton Cemetery, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton, MA 01612.
