Mary Louise (Davis) Carr, age 82, of Holden, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 with her loving husband and family by her side.

She was born to the late Harold and Katherine (Davitt) Davis on March 6, 1939, at home in Rutland. Mary graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1957.

She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 62 years, William J. Carr, with whom she created a beautiful life and family in Worcester for 43 years before relocating to Holden, Massachusetts. Mary also leaves six daughters; Kathleen Hackett of Worcester and her husband Paul, Jeanne Malone of Oxford her husband Donald, Dianne Steadman of Ayer her husband Paul, Carolyn Maurello of Holden her husband Michael, Rosemary Sposato of Worcester her husband Robert and Laura Meola of Worcester and her husband Alan; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a sister Esther Hill of Holden and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by sisters Gloria Gardner, Kathleen O’Grady, Ruth Wagner, and a brother, Robert Davis.

Mary worked for Hanover Insurance for 25 years in corporation insurance. She loved cooking, crocheting, and making clothing for her and her family, but most of all she loved creating her beautiful gardens. Mary loved to travel with her husband and sisters along with their husbands. The destinations included the Caribbean, Mexico, Central/South America, Europe, Africa, Canada and throughout the United States.

She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Mary’s family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary care she received from her nurse Mandy and spiritual counselor Nancy with the VNA Hospice.
Services honoring Mary’s life will be held privately. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
