Subscription Update Obituary

     Mary E. (Eldridge) Kielion, 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth E. (Gilinsky) Eldridge and lived for over 50 years in East Brookfield.

Her loving husband of 60 years, Matthew Kielion, passed away in 2006. She leaves her son, Michael A. Kielion and his wife, Deborah of Holden; her daughter, Gale E. Audette and her husband, Michael of West Brookfield; three brothers, Ernest “Buddy” Eldridge of Cape Cod, Joseph Eldridge of Spencer and Arthur Eldridge of East Brookfield; two sisters, Ruth Dann of Lakeville and Joan Perra of Indiana; five grandchildren, Matthew and Alexander Audette, Emily Gaestel, Michael and Courtney Kielion; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, George Eldridge and two sisters, Irene Larkham and Claire Finmein.

Mary worked many years at Chess King in Worcester before retiring in 1990. Previously, she worked at Kleven Shoe in North Brookfield and during World War II stitched parachutes at Warren Mills in Warren. Mary was an active and social person who belonged to several senior centers, including East Brookfield, Spencer and West Brookfield. She was a member of the Red Hats Society and St. John the Baptist Church in East Brookfield. She was devoted to her family and loved to travel.

Mary’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the care and compassion provided by the staff of Notre Dame Hospice and Commonwealth Caregivers.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mrs. Kielion’s family on Monday, April 18, from 11 to 12 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 12 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A committal service will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
