Subscription Update Obituary

    Mary E. (O’Brien) Benoit, 73, of Spencer, died on Sunday, November 16th in Saint Vincent Hospital after a brief illness.

    Mrs. Benoit is survived by her husband of 56 years Robert A. Benoit Sr.; a son Robert A. Benoit Jr. and his longtime companion Gloria Draper of Charlton; three daughters Mary A. Benoit of Worcester, Debra L. Mossey and her husband Richard of Vernon, VT and Lisa E. Rondeau and her husband Harry of Worcester; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Mary was born in Worcester daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Casey) O’Brien and is predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters.

    She worked for the City of Worcester School Department for 18 years at the Canterbury Street School and previously worked at Hot Dog Annie’s in Leicester and the Belmont Home.

    Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, watching old movies and taking trips to Foxwoods.

    A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 20th at 10 AM in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Church 7 Church Street, Spencer. Burial will be at a later date in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Wednesday, November 19th from 5 to 7 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester.
