Subscription Update Obituary

     Arlene M. (Burbank) Killoran, 88, of Worcester died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 7th following a brief illness.

Arlene was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Lester Burbank and Nora (Manning) Burbank. Her sister Patricia Pierce and brother Francis Burbank predeceased her.
For 50 years, Arlene was the beloved wife of the late John J. Killoran, a 40-year veteran of the Worcester Police Department, who died in 2000. Arlene is survived by her children Kathleen Killoran of Worcester, Elizabeth Bowles (Timothy) of Barre, Stephen Killoran of Auburn, and Margaret Killoran of Worcester. Two sons, John F. Killoran and Robert M. Killoran predeceased her. Arlene was the proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Jessica Hazard of Thompson, CT, Jennifer Killoran of Worcester, Ryan Killoran of Worcester, and Robert Falco-Killoran of Orange; and two great-grandchildren; Rae’anne and Maxine Hazard of Thompson, CT. She will be mourned by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful neighbors and friends.

Arlene graduated from the former Ascension High School and worked as a stenographer before becoming a wife and mother. Arlene was an accomplished seamstress and craftsperson who gave generously of her time and talents and was passionate about using her skills for charitable purposes. Arlene created a home that was a joyful gathering place for family and friends for decades. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish for over 50 years.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 11th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the CALLAHAN, FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 12th at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park.
