Subscription Update Obituary

Martin E. “Marty” Foley, 57, of Worcester died on Sunday, November 12, 2023, in the Lahey Hospital Burlington surrounded by his family after a short illness.

He leaves his wife of 19 years, Christina D. (Croff) Foley, a son Patrick F. Foley of Worcester, a daughter Mary S. Foley of Worcester, his siblings Tara M. Marchand and her husband James and their children Michael and Kelly of Townsend, Daniel G. Foley and his wife Stephanie and their children Olivia and Christopher of Cranston, R.I., and Peter C. Foley and his wife Kate and their children Joseph and Matthew of Rochdale, a sister-in law Miriam Foley and her children Steven, John and Clifford of Shrewsbury and many friends who will greatly miss him.  He was predeceased by a brother J. Steven Foley in 2021.

Marty was born in Worcester, son of John A. and Marion (Wren) Foley.  He graduated from St. Peter’s High School.   He was a longtime local bartender at various establishments in Worcester, most recently The Galway Bay Irish  Pub. He also worked part time as a DJ and as a driver at Joey’s Limousine Service. He was a member of Christ the King Church, the Central Mass Jeepers, and the Alhambra Council 88# Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed  traveling and driving jeeps with friends, but most of all he loved time spent with his family.

Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, November 16 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 17 at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester.  Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.  Marty gave the gift of life as an organ donor and his family asks in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations may be made to New England Donor Services at www.neds.org/give
