Mark Carl Johnson passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents, Virginia (nee: Krikorian) and Carl Johnson.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Johnson and his brother Dave Johnson along with three children: Nicole Adamson, Bryan Johnson, and Melissa Maci and one granddaughter, Isabella (Izzy) Adamson.

Mark was born in Worcester, MA and grew up and lived in Holden most of his life.

His 40-year career in commercial laundry started at age 15 when he worked in a laundry in Worcester. He eventually bought and grew that institutional business merging with Royal White in Somerville in 1990 which became Royal Institutional with a plant in Worcester and one in Somerville. That move developed into three business partners with Mark Johnson as president. Under Mark’s leadership, the company was instrumental in being the first to bring new innovations and equipment to the industry.

After selling the institutional business in 2005, the company segued in hospitality services. He became the first Hall of Fame inductee of Massachusetts Lodging Association who was a vendor and not in a direct hospitality business.

The hospitality business was sold in 2014 and Mark retired to his home on Wells Beach in Maine. There he thoroughly enjoyed golfing, his dog Della, and traveling with his wife.

Visiting hours will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 19th, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, MA. Burial will be held privately at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 20th, at the funeral home.
