Subscription Update Obituary

Marjorie G. (Perkins) Fleming, age 99 of Northborough passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 29, 2021, in her home. Her husband of 35 years, Henry “Joe” Fleming died in 1975.

Marjorie was born on August 21, 1922, in Worcester, Massachusetts and was preceded in death by her father, Frank Perkins and her mother Luella (Croft) Perkins. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Marjorie worked as an administrator for many years at Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology.

She leaves her son, Robert J. Fleming and his wife Elaine of Upton; two daughters, Elaine A. Russo of Northborough and Paula F. Boule of Shrewsbury; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a daughter in-law, Kathleen Fleming of New Hampshire. She was predeceased by her son, Richard Fleming and two son in-laws, R. Nick Russo and Stan Boule and her lifelong friends including Viola Fleming, and Virginia Kielinen.

Marjorie put others before herself, she was dedicated to her family, with a kind soul, bright smile, and great personality, always willing to help anyone and everyone when the need arose. She looked forward to family gatherings, special occasions, and any time her family could be around her. Marjorie had a great love for all animals. She had a special place in her heart for cats. She was committed to caring for feral cats in her surrounding area. She was involved in practicing Trap-Neuter-Return and using spay/neuter to control the population of free roaming cats in her area.

A memorial service, celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Family will receive friends beginning at 11 am until the time of the service at 12 noon.
