Marian J. (Goodspeed) Frick, 85, of Leicester, died Monday, Jan. 25 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. Marian was born March 10, 1935 in Fitchburg, MA to Dorothy and Keith Goodspeed. She lived in Leicester most of her life.

She graduated from Fitchburg H.S. in 1952 and Leominster School of Nursing in 1955, being the recipient of two medical awards. She worked as an RN for 39 years at Hahnemann Hospital, Worcester, MA and 4 years at Memorial Hospital in the post-surgical unit until she retired in 1998.

Marian married James H. Bray in 1955; they were married for 14 years. She later married the love of her life, Walter Frick, on June 9, 1985 which continued for 29 years until he predeceased her in 2014.

She is survived by two sons, J. Scot Bray and his wife, Nancy, of South Carolina, and Steven Bray of Georgia; also a stepson, Walter (Gus) Frick, Jr. and his wife, Timberly, of MA.

Marian leaves six beautiful grandchildren; Christy Kelly of CT, Derek Bray and his wife, Amelia, of PA, Alycia Waggoner and Tiffany Bray both of TN, Kristel Hunt and Marissa Bennett and her husband, Ryan all of MA. She was also blessed with eleven great grandchildren.

She also leaves a beloved sister, Bette Adams of Leominster, MA as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was a member of Bible Way Baptist Church in Auburn. Marian and Walter volunteered many years at Shirley Prison and at the Oddfellows Nursing Home. They also sponsored several Haitian children through New Missions of FL. Marian had numerous interests including gardening, playing the piano and compiling albums with photos of her family, friends and events.

She truly believed that faith in God, family and friends were the most important part of her life. Anytime she could be with or talk to her family were the times she cherished the most.
