Marilyn M. (Cormey) McGuirk,95, of 88 Masonic Home Rd., died Friday, Oct 4th in Overlook Masonic Home. She was the wife of James F. McGuirk, who died in 1997. She leaves her sons; James M. McGuirk and his wife Janice of Worcester and William B. McGuirk and his wife Laureen of Auburn, her daughters; Karen F. Carlson of Oxford and Pamela A. Cassanelli of Boston, her brothers; Wesley and Wayne Cormey of N.J., 11 grandchildren, Abbey Carlson, Patrick Carlson, Alexis VanderPoel, Cara Gregoire, Jenna Mahoney, Ann Vargas, Sloan Cassanelli, Colton Cassanelli, Dr. Bryan McGuirk, Caitlin Piche, and Chelsea Ceffalo, 22 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers; Donald, Sherwood, and Wendell Cormey and sisters; Thelma Travers and Shirley Dragon.

She was born in Spencer, the daughter of Garfield and Stella (Fowler) Cormey and lived in Spencer before moving to Charlton in 1987.

Marilyn graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester as an RN, she was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and was a longtime golfer at Bay Path CC in E.Brookfield and Hillcrest CC in Leicester. She was a life member of the 16th Armored Division Association Auxillary.

Marilyn was most happy when surrounded by her children, whether grandchildren or great grandchildren. She loved to play the piano and she had a beautiful singing voice. She kept her sense of humor right until the end. She will be greatly missed.

Private funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton with burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Side by Side Charitable Org., 8 Rice Rd., Auburn, MA 01501, sidebysideus.org or St Joseph’s Catholic Church, H. Putnam Rd Ext, Charlton, Ma 01507.
