Marie T. (Fessenden) Dacey, 84, of Fairview Dr., made her final journey home Monday, Dec. 18 at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester. She now watches over her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Timothy J. Dacey, Jr., her three sons Timothy J. Dacey, III and his wife Caroline and Thomas W. Dacey and his wife Charlene all of Spencer, and Paul J. Dacey and his wife Brenda of No. Brookfield, a sister Margaret Germain and her husband Ronald of Paxton, six grandchildren; Timothy Dacey, IV and his wife Jessica Crisci and Patrick Dacey and his wife Nicole all of Los Angeles, CA., Thomas Dacey, Jr. and his wife Monique of Sanbornville, NH., Matthew Dacey of Spencer, and Samantha and Camden Dacey of No. Brookfield, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister and her husband Walda and Robert Johnstone.
Born in Worcester, Marie was the daughter of Walter and Elaine (Roslund) Fessenden and later graduated from South High School and the Worcester State Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. She was a dedicated nurse at Worcester State Hospital until 1992. Marie always enjoyed annual traditions with her dearest nursing girls since retiring. She loved going to camp, bird watching, and reading. Family meant the world to her, and everyone who met her loved her back and called her Nana. You could always find Nana digging in her beautiful gardens surrounding her loving home. She will be greatly missed and forever cherished.
The funeral for Marie will be held on Saturday, Dec. 23 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St.,Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday, from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Assoc., 72 East Concord St., C3, Boston, MA 02118.
