Marie Rose Johnson (Cardinale), 90 of Millbury, MA went to be with her lord in everlasting peace on October 15th after a long illness.

Born in Everett MA, she was the eldest child of the late John A. And Margaret (LaCortiglia) Cardinale. She attended school culminating in her graduation from Everett High School in 1948. Following her marriage to the late Vernon W. Johnson, she moved to Millbury where she lived for the past 58 years.

Marie was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, knitting, baking, crossword puzzles and oil painting. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren on family vacations in Maine, and all Family outings. Also, she was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics in her later years. She was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church in Worcester until its closing. She later attended Sacred Heart Church.

Marie is survived by her three children, Glenn E. Johnson of Boulder, Colorado, Diane M. Johnson and her husband Robert M. Kajiwara of Kapaa, Hawaii, and Alan T. Johnson and his wife Tracy A. Johnson of Auburn, Massachusetts. She also leaves three grandchildren: Pamela M. Johnson of San Diego, CA, Angela H. Johnson of Oceanside, CA, and Kasey Kajiwara of Kapaa, Hawaii. She was predeceased in death by her husband Vernon, her parents, brother Vincent M. Cardinale and three sisters Barbara Gulizia, Palma Fitzpatrick, and Mildred Russo.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, funeral services will be private with internment at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Richard Wholey and Dr. Jarrod Faucher for their help and compassion with Marie’s health issues as well as Central Care VNA of Auburn and Private Caregivers. Donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.
