Marianne (McQuade) McNulty, 99, of Boynton Beach, and formerly of Worcester, died Sunday, September 12, 2021, in Delray Beach, Fla.

Marianne was the wife of Charles R. McNulty, who died in 1996. He was the longtime basketball and baseball coach at WPI.

Marianne was born in Yonkers, N.Y., daughter of Michael and Josephine (Cunningham) McQuade. She lived in Worcester for 68 years before moving to Florida.

Marianne leaves a daughter Joanne Schroeder of with whom she lived, a son Kevin McNulty of Boynton Beach, a daughter-n-law Joanne McNulty of Holden, Mass.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her son Gary McNulty died in 1974 and her son Chip McNulty passed away in 2004. She was also predeceased by her sister Eileen McQuade Morgan.

Marianne was the television representative at the UMass Medical Center in Worcester from its opening day in 1975 until 1996.

Marianne was a member of the WPI Women’s Club, and former President of the WPI Alumni Wives Club. She was a member of the St. John’s High School Pioneers Club, the Red Hat Society and Hillcrest Country Club.

Marianne enjoyed life at its fullest with Happy Hours on Fridays at Boston’s, Rummikub Tuesdays, bargain shopping and golf.

When asked, she attributed her longevity to martinis, milk chocolate and Cover Girl.

The funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 24, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St., Worcester. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
