Subscription Update Obituary

Lorraine T. (Berthel) Ambrose, 85, of Orange and formerly of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 in Athol Hospital.

Lorraine was married for 49 years to the late William J. Ambrose Jr. who died in 2003. She is survived by a son, John S. Ambrose and his significant other Darci Carroll of Worcester; a daughter, Laurie A. Elborn and her wife, Cindy of Orange; a brother, Donald Berthel; a daughter in law, Margaret “Peggy” Ambrose of Webster; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William A. Berthel and Dorothy (Cousin) Berthel Cedar and is also predeceased by a son, William J. Ambrose III and a daughter, Patricia Jean Ambrose.

Mrs. Ambrose worked for many years as an engraver for Things Remembered in the Auburn Mall. Lorraine was a homebody at heart but she was truly the happiest when she was spending time with her family.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 21 at 11 AM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 AM in the funeral home prior to the service. Memorial contributions in memory of Lorraine may be made to the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired 799 West Boylston Street Worcester, MA 01606.
