Lorenzo Trombetta Jr. 90 left this earth peacefully at his vacation home, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 29th, to be in the arms of the Lord. He was born on October 24, 1933, in Marlborough, the son of Angelina Quaglito and Lorenzo Trombetta Sr. from Calabria, Italy. He lived in Northborough, Marlborough, Fort Pierce Florida and recently in Fitchburg.

Lorenzo proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Royal during the Korean War. He was a cook in the Navy and after his service, he followed his passion for food and attended Fannie Farmer cooking school under the G.I. Bill to pursue a career as a restauranteur. He began his career at Dunkin Donuts, starting at the bottom and working his way up to manager. His entrepreneurial spirit drove him to start and own several restaurants, a bakery, a bar The Royal and a night club The Royal Penthouse Lounge, all in Marlborough. He then owned several different food trucks and would travel around to fairs and carnivals all around the New England area. His last employment was working at a couple different golf courses in the Fort Pierce, Florida area, after he moved there in 2001. He finally fully retired at the age of 80. Lorenzo was a beloved member of the American Legion Post 1 in Laconia, NH.

Lorenzo (Larry) was loved by everyone he met. He had a kind heart and would help anyone he could. He had a great sense of humor. His laugh was unmistakable, and it would always make everyone else laugh. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and spending time in his RV home. He loved walking and spending everyday with his 2 doggie’s Marshmallo and Angel who also loved him. Above all he cherished his family. He was the youngest of 5 children and was predeceased by his brothers, Charles, Dominic and Terzo and his sister Mary Colecchi.

Lorenzo will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 28 years, Evelyn C. (Broderick) Trombetta; his children, Lorenzo S. Trombetta and his wife, Cathy of Meredith, NH, Laura Flanigan of West Boylston, Rev. Christopher J. Trombetta and his wife, Margaret of Prescott, AZ, Stephen Trombetta of Northborough and Lisa Harwell of Marlborough; his step-children, Ronald E. Plante and his partner, Karen of Berlin, Steven P. Plante and his wife, Marlene of Ashby, Doreen R. DiBiase and her husband, David of Baldwinville, and Christine M. Smith of Las Vegas, NV; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; many Nieces and Nephews and his former wife, Theresa A. Trombetta.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave, Paxton.
