Subscription Update Obituary

     Lois C. (Miller) Cort, 98, formerly of Uncatena Ave., died Friday, January 13, 2017 at Beaumont at University Campus, 378 Plantation St. Her husband, Chester E. Cort, died December 31, 1996. She leaves a son, James K. Cort of Worcester; two step-daughters, Marcia and Brenda Eames, both of Thompson, CT; two sisters, Donna McMichael of Penn Yan, NY, Betty Snyder of Syracuse, NY; 2 grandchildren, Brenda and Diane; 5 great grandchildren, Katie, Kerri Lee, Melissa, Nicole and Eric; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by six brothers, Charles, Carl, Elmer, Rex, Billy and Rolland Miller; three sisters, Sara, Mary and Helen, a step-daughter, Elsa Milus, and a son, Robert E. “Bobby” Cort, who died December 5, 2016. She was born and raised in Liberty, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Elmer and Sadie (Decker) Miller and was graduate of Liberty High School. After she and her husband married, they moved to Worcester from Philadelphia more than 60 years ago,

Lois worked at Dapol Plastics in Worcester for many years until she retired. She previously worked for the United States Navy while living in Philadelphia.

She enjoyed crafting. Over the years, she donated numerous items she created for the Craft Fair at St. Michael-on-the Heights Church. She will be remembered for her kindness and spirit.

After cremation, a Committal Service for both Lois and her son Bobby will be held in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA at a date to be announced in the spring. Kelly Funeral Home, 154 Lincoln St., is assisting the family.
