Subscription Update Obituary

    Lawrence “Larry” I. Dorval, 77, of West Street, died Saturday at the UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

    He was born in Chicopee, MA, January 2, 1932, son of the late Adelard and Marie Dorval. He was a resident of West Brookfield for the past 2 years, formerly living in Leicester and Spencer. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield, Class of 1948. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving with Company H, 503rd Air Battalion, with the rank of Private First Class. He was employed for 25 years, at Thompson Steele & Wire and had previously worked in the boiler room as a fireman for American Optical Co. of Southbridge. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in West Brookfield.

    He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Muriel (Beaudin) Dorval; his caring children, Anthony Dorval and his wife, Lynne of Florida, Michael Audette and his wife, Gale of West Brookfield, Stephen Audette and his wife Susan of Westborough, MA, Linda Maher and her husband Dean of Hudson, MA, Sergius Barre and his wife Denise of Oxford, MA and Sandra Zikaras of East Brookfield. He has one sister, Theresa Lapierre and her husband Raymond of Chicoppee, MA. Larry also has many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    Friends and relatives are invited to gather Wednesday at 10 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, West Brookfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. The burial will follow, with military honors in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA. There are no visiting hours. Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main Street, West Brookfield is entrusted with the arrangements.
