Laurie A. (Smith) Johnson, 57, passed away peacefully on May 31st surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her longtime partner Wayne Helmlinger of Florida; son Eric Johnson of Worcester; son William Johnson of Florida; daughter Heather Johnson of Worcester; her mother and step-father Roberta and Michael Fitzpatrick of Florida; brother and sister-in-law Stuart and Jean Smith of Worcester; nephew Patrick Smith of Worcester; niece Jennifer Johnson of Barre; beloved grandchildren Kyla and Logan Johnson; and many extended close family members and friends.

Laurie was born in Worcester, MA daughter of Roberta Kerr Smith (Fitzpatrick) and the late Edward F Smith. She graduated from Wachusett High School in 1983 and worked in retail and customer service for many years.

She moved from Worcester to South Florida in 2005. Although the love for her hometown friends never faded, she met many more in Florida she held close to her heart over the years. She enjoyed cooking, hosting out on her patio and soaking up the sun on pool days. Laurie lit up the room with her infectious smile and bright spirit. Her children and grandchildren were her world. She cherished and captured every moment spent with her family.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Worcester County Memorial Park Paxton.
